CLARK, John Jr., went to be with the Lord on January 9, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Clark Sr. and Ora (Southerland) Clark; brothers: James Clark, Eli Clark, Columbus Clark, Robert Clark; sisters: Annie Louise Jones, Mary Lewis, Nepsy Washington, and Georgia Mae Clark. He was born July 8, 1934, in Sanford, NC. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953, where he served with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, he received two Bronze Stars for his service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 89, Macedonia Baptist Church, Macedoniaás Menás Ministry, the Senior Mass choir. And the Downtown Wheeling Jayceeás in the 1960ás He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Emma LaVenia Clark; three sons: Damon Clark of Wheeling, John Darryll Clark of Wheeling and James Clark of Alexandria, Va.; one daughter, Johnetta Clark of Atlanta, Ga.; surviving sisters; Mrs. Juanita Holmes (Shelby) of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs Jane Bozeman (John) of Warrensville Ohio; ten grandchildren; Darryll Arthur Pugh of Clarksburgb, W.Va., Damona Patterson of Wheeling, Carnessa Drake of Glen Dale W.Va., Derin Clark of Bronx, NY, Ebony Reed of Columbus, Ohio, Damica Clark of Martins Ferry, Ohio, Damilia Clark of Fort Knox, Kentucky, Janese and Ashley Johnson of Sandy Springs, Md.; six great-grandchildren; Damonique Patterson of Wheeling, DeAndre and DaKayla Drake of Glen Dale, W.Va., Daniia and Denim Clark of Fort Knox, Kentucky, JoNessa Drake of Glen Dale, W.Va., and a great host of nieces and nephews and friends. Friends will be received at the Macedonia Baptist Church, Wheeling on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Albert K. Anderson, Jr. Interment at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Kepner Funeral Home, 1308 Chapline Street, Wheeling.
