WESTBROOK, Mary Rebecca Martin, 98, of Elm Grove, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling. She was born December 9, 1911 in Jacobsburg, WV, daughter of the late Obed Stephen and Bessie Varner Martin. Mrs. Westbrook was a former sales clerk at Ben Franklin Craft Store, Elm Grove and former employee of Owens-Corning of Parkersburg, WV. She was a member of the Elm Grove United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, and four sisters. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, George T. Westbrook, Sr.; a son, George Thomas Westbrook, Jr. and his wife, Wilma of Beaver Falls, PA; a daughter, Rebecca Mae Quick and her husband, Gene of Wheeling; a brother, John Martin of Sugarland, Texas; a sister, Birdie Mae Farley of Paden City, WV; five grandchildren, Seth, Troy, and Fawn Quick, Justin and Bethany Westbrook; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Clemons, Aiden and Keeley Quick; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010, with the Reverend Bryan D. Carpenter officiating. Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling. Military graveside services will be conducted at the cemetery.
