Kapsis, Pearl 89, of Wheeling, WV., passed away on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born on June 24, 1921, a beloved daughter of the late Steve and Maria Kostadoudakis Liapakis. Pearl and Costas Kapsis were married in St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church in Wheeling, they then moved to Chicago, Illinois and opened a restaurant. She was a member of St. Demitrius Church in Chicago and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She lived most of her life in Chicago and was widowed at an early age. Pearl moved back to Wheeling in 2001 to be with her ailing brother, Costas. Pearl was a devout Christian and a loving daughter, wife, sister and friend. In addition to her parents and husband, Pearl was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Costas, and her sisters, Tassia and Georgia Liapakis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 9 a.m. until time of at 10 a.m. at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, with the Rev. Eugene V. Rosu officiating. Interment in Elmwood Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John The Divine Greek Orthodox Church, 2215 Chapline St., Wheeling, WV 26003.
