BOYD, David Forsch, 73, of Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV, died Saturday, May 15, 2010, in Wheeling Hospital. He was born September 7, 1936, in Wheeling to the late James C. Boyd, Sr., and the late Edythe Forsch Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James C. Boyd, Jr. Dave was a graduate of Triadelphia High School, Class of 1954, received a B.S. degree from West Liberty State College in 1963 and an MBA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in 1966. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, was a graduate of Syracuse University’s Russian Language School, and was stationed in Germany and Turkey. In addition to teaching in the Business Department at West Liberty State College in the 1960's, Dave was a Marketing Manager at Mobil Chemical Company near Rochester, N.Y., and President of Webster Industries near Boston, MA. In 1982, Dave and long-time business associate, Daniel Smith, formed Market Scope, Inc., a marketing consulting company to the plastics industry. Upon retirement in 2000, Dave returned to Wheeling, his hometown that he loved so much. He was Presbyterian by faith. Surviving are Mary Elizabeth “Beth” Drawneck Boyd whom he married in 1962, sons, David Andrew Boyd (Lisa) of Chardon, OH, and Grant Allen Boyd of Virginia; a brother, Terry Boyd (Beverly) of McCalla, AL; a sister-in-law, Maxine Grub Boyd of Wheeling; a brother-in-law, Richard Drawneck of Virginia; three granddaughters, Noel Graham, Dominique DeCarpo, and Tessa DeCarpo; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 6.p.m. with the Reverend Robert P. Nagy of Stone Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Charity of Donor’s Choice.
