Bartholomew, Donald Jacob, 79, formerly of 
Warwood, died Sunday, May 16, 2010  at the 
Valley Haven Geriatric Center.

He was born June 29, 1930 in Wheeling, WV., the 
son of the late Jacob and Bridgie McAndrew 
Bartholomew.

Mr. Bartholomew was a retired teacher for the 
Ohio County School System; an Army Korean War 
veteran, and a Lutheran by faith.  He was a 
member of the Warwood WATCH where he enjoyed 
outings and teaching; a Quarter Master for 
American Legion Post 4442, and a member of the 
Ohio County Association of Retired School 
Teachers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in 
death by his sister, Dorothy Wasemann, and a 
brother-in-law, Bill Wasemann.

Surviving are his daughter, Veronica M. 
Berisford and her husband Gary, of Wheeling; 
grandchildren, Brittany Berisford and Cody 
Berisford. Several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday from 7-9 pm at 
the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 
Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, where services will be 
held Wednesday, 10:30 am with Rev. Beth Westphal 
officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will be held at 
the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 
Bridgeville, PA.
