BENNER, Mary Smith Donald, 99, formerly of 
Idabell Avenue, Elm Grove, died Saturday, June 
26, 2010, at Bishop Hodges Continuous Care 
Center, Wheeling, WV.

She was born September 8, 1910, in Glasgow 
Scotland, daughter of the late Samuel and Jane 
Muir Donald.

Mrs. Benner was a Homemaker and she was 
Protestant by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in 
death by her husband, John R. Benner in 1986; a 
son, Donald Raymond Benner; and a daughter, 
Nancy Benner Foose.

Surviving are a son, James W. Benner and his 
wife, Sandra of Queen Creek, AZ; three 
daughters, Marion Schafer and her husband, John 
of Villages, FL, Alice Bachmann and her husband, 
Bernard of Wheeling, WV, and Linda E. Conopask 
and her husband, Royden of Colorado Springs, CO; 
ten grandchildren; and several great-
grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., 
Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at the Kepner Funeral 
Home, (304-242-2311) 166 Kruger Street, Elm 
Grove, Wheeling, where services will be held at 
1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2010, with the 
Reverend Maggie Sebastian officiating.   
Interment Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, 
Sherrard, WV.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests 
donations be made to the Recreation Department of
Bishop Hodges Continuous Care Center, Medical 
Park, Wheeling, WV 26003.
