She was born April 28, 1913 in Homokterenye, Hungary the daughter of the late Jasper and Mary Berze.

Mrs. Hughes was a homemaker and a Methodist by faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard S. Hughes in 1983; a brother, Jasper Berze; two sisters, Violet Craft and Helen Orsilo; a granddaughter, Cindy Moore.

Surviving are two sons, Richard W. Moore and his wife, Dolores  of Wheeling and Howard D. Hughes and his wife, Pat of Bothell, WA; three granddaughters, Deborah Wilson and her husband, Matt of Newark, OH, Dianne Sandvik and her husband, Sig of Leesburg, FL and Pamela Holshey and her husband, Ron of Ridgely, WV; three great-grandchildren, Alicia Klein of Keyser, WV, Logan Holshey and Nolan Holshey of Ridgely, WV; a step-granddaughter, Sara Lockett of Austin, TX; two nephews, Wayne Loeb of Los Angles, CA and Roger Loeb of Hawaii.

Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home,2101 Warwood Ave, Wheeling(304-277-2722) where services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Jody Carroll officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
