Stead, Betty June Rader, 87, of Wheeling, WV., died Monday, July 2, 2012 in the Country Club Retirement Center, Belmont, OH.

She was born June 4, 1925 in Wheeling, WV., the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Bowers Rader.

Mrs. Stead was a homemaker and a member of Ruble United Methodist Church, Wheeling; and she sang with the Bells of the Valley Barbershop Group.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Stead, Jr; a son, Timothy Lawrence Stead; a sister, Mary Dolores Camiletti.

Surviving are four sons, Dale Edward Stead and his wife, Rosemary of Wheeling, Terry Lee Stead and his wife, Maureen of Washington, PA, Todd Michael Stead and his wife, Terry Lynn and Tracy Adam Stead of Wheeling; a sister, Carol Ann Carlson and her husband, Duwayne of Lakeland, FL; five grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home 900 National Road Wheeling (304-232-2732) where service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. Douglas Liston officiating. Interment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.

I knew Betty and her sisters. Betty was a wonderful and thoughtful person. I was closer friends with her sister Carol and could always count on Betty to let me know how Carol was doing She will be missed.
