Dixon, Florena Margaret Atkinson, 100, of Wheeling, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

 

She was born July, 17, 1912 in Valley Grove, daughter of the late Allen and Eva Black Atkinson.

Florena was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church, and also a member of Miriam Chapter #1 Order of Eastern Star for 60 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Oscar Dixon; four brothers; and two sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Philip J. Dixon and his wife Kathleen of Wheeling, and Ronald A. Dixon and his wife Patricia of Bethlehem; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), where services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Robert P. Nagy officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Stone Presbyterian Church, 25 East Cove Ave, Wheeling, WV 26003.

My condolences to the Dixon family. Wow 100, still we want our loved ones to be with us forever and soon we want have to worry about losing our loved one at all for Revelation 21:4 says: "Death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry be any more. The former things have passed away". I hope this fact help and comfort you, in your time of need.
