Barnett, Grace Elizabeth Rasmusson, 92, of Elm Grove died on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

She was born February 13, 1920 in Amelia, NE the daughter of the late Sander and Ruth Lindblad Rasmusson and was a member of Elm Grove United Methodist Church, Wheeling where she was a member of the Methodist Women.

Grace was a college graduate with a BS degree in Home Economics, Food and Nutrition from Iowa State University. She was a retired Dietician at the OVMC where she retired as the Assistant Director of the Dietary; was a past President of the WV Dietary Association; was Dietician of the year in 1979; member of the Wheeling Chapter of the AARP; past member of the Happy Hilltoppers. She was a great cook and a fun loving mom, grandmother and Mama. She had a smile that would brighten up the room and was a grandmother to all who knew her.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the caring staff at 3 Center of the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Gordon Rasmusson in 1945 and Robert Rasmusson in 1996.

Surviving are two sons, David Barnett and his wife, Nancy of Wheeling and Gary Barnett and and his wife, Louise of Cornwall, VT; a daughter, Betzie Modar and her husband, Lou of Wheeling; a brother, John Rasmusson of Del Rapids, SD; two sisters, Marie Bernays of Cleveland, OH and Betty Rasmusson of Tillamook, OR; two granddaughters, Wendy Clark Weimer and her husband, Steven of Wheeling and Sadie Barnett Polen of Boston, MA; a great granddaughter, Leah Weimer and several nieces and nephews.

Friends received on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 1-4 and 6-8 P M and on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 from 10 A M until time of service at 11 A M at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St, Wheeling with the Reverend Bryan D. Carpenter officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
