Thur the years I have thought about the things you told me to look out for in life. An the things you told me abou, did happen in real life and I was ready for them because of you and your words of wisdom. Bill and Ruth Noonan, my parents, loved and admired Pat and Fred boundlessly, and so did my siblings and I. Last June, my brother Bill and I spent several hours with Pat in her living room, star-struck by how engaged she was with the world, by how vivid her memories of my parents were--they camped and birded together for decades--and by how beautiful she was. She was also one of the smartest individuals I ever met.

I am so sorry I couldn't make the reception but was turned back by bad roads and traffic. Pat was a very special woman and a good friend. Her sensible view of life and sense of humor made her a great conversationalist and lots of fun to be with. I will miss her.

MrsTemple will never be forgotten as she helped me to develop an educational foundation that served me well later in life. I am thankful for her guidance and life's instruction. Prayers to her family, she gave much and earned her wings on earth.

I too can attest to being inspired by Pat (and Fritz). I spent a great deal of time in their home as I was growing up and learned to think about and appreciate life in new ways. I still have a lovely piece of art hanging in my home today that Pat gave me as I was leaving for college. Ann, Ellen, and Kit: it's a shame we lost touch. Would love to get reconnected. Pat was my sister's neighbor. What great Christmas Eves we had going from house to house to finally end up at the last to sing 12 days of christmas. Pat always had wonderful cheese ball snacks at her house.
Fitz always showed his singing lobster.
My guy friend and I bought some of her artwork. We always enjoyed meeting Pat at the art receptions. She loved photography and talking about her trips.
Pat helped my daughter with her 4H bird project, which won a blue ribbon at Oglebayfest. My family and Pat shared a special love for birds.
I had no clue she was 92; she lived life fully and was so active, I believed she was in her 60's.
She will be very missed from the Warwood and Wheeling communities.

Mrs. Temple was my English teacher at Clay school. She was a wonderful teacher who encouraged her students to be more and do more. She taught us that we could be anyone we wanted to be. Every fall she showed slide shows of their various travels which encouraged me to travel. Every week she made us write in a journal, which encouraged me to write. She truely inspired me and she will be missed.

To the Temple Family:

"Miss Temple" was one of my teachers at Clay Elementary/Junior High School in Wheeling, WV during the late 60s and early 70s. She was quite an interesting and good teacher and mentor. I would even say that she "spoiled" us students! Comfort to you all during this time and always.

Pat was a treasured neighbor for 15 years. She and Fritz hosted many slide shows for the neighbors of their many vacations to other countries. I have SO MANY fond memories of Pat....her love of birds (that we strongly share), her welcoming approach to life and her exquisite manner of teaching me new things in a way that made me thirst for more.
I will miss Pat dearly. She has made a beautiful impression on my life.

I grew up across the alley from Pat and Fritz in Warwood. I have great memories of them around Christmas time when we would do our rotating parties. We would start at either our house, the Temple's, or the Simmons', and finish at June Raab's with the singing of the 12 Days of Christmas. I always ejoyed my time most at the Temple's because they had tasty cheese dip, but more importantly, great travel stories. They would travel to places where most of us would not even imagine. That always stuck with me especially today. Why travel to a place where plenty of your friends have been to when you can break the trend and visit somewhere new and have your own experience. I have never been to Paris but I feel as though I have because a majority of my friends have. If I go now, I cannot tell my story without "Did you do this?" or Did you see that?" The Temples tought me to go a different route and be the first explorer of your friends to be there. No blockbuster movie could compare to the weeknight slide show the Temple's would put on every now and again to display their travels to new places. I saw a movie about bird watchers a few weeks ago called The Big Year and it made me think of them. Travelers trekking to various places just to bird watch. You quickly learn the journey is much more than just birds, as I am sure it was for Pat and Fritz. Their story about buying a car in France and getting stuck in the round about for 45 minutes was a classic and you can just envision it in your head when they told it. Fritz and Pat were truly great people. They will be missed, but certainly not forgotten.

It was my good fortune to know Pat [and Fritz] in Brooks Bird Club. She was a unique and memorable person. I'm also lucky to have purchased one of her framed photographs. Pat's lovely image of a Red-shouldered Hawk hangs by a door, so I can see it each day.

So sorry for the loss of a great talent, warm heart, humorous lady, and all around wonderful person. Special evenings will be remembered at your house with me, Bob, Lambros, and Paul sharing slide images of trips we took and wanted to share all the while enjoying a premium ice cream selection that you always had to offer. Great memories. You touched our lives Pat and you are truly an inspiration for living life to the fullest. RIP Pat. We will miss you.
