Hammond, Robert Edward, 83, resident of Wheeling, WV died Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Liza's Place, Wheeling.
He was born July 24, 1929 in Wheeling, the son of the late H. Edward and Della M. Greenhalgh Hammond.
He was a retired central office technician with Verizon, a Navy Korean War veteran, a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church and the Telephone Co. Pioneers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia M. Hammond, and his second wife, Lois Hammond; a grandson, Alexander Nicholas Hammond.
Surviving are his sons, Randy Hammond and his wife, Linda, Dr. David Michael Hammond and his wife, Pamela, and Dr. Jeffrey Allen Hammond and his wife, Lori; a daughter, Dr. Mary Hammond Brinsky, and her husband, Jim; 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722).
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church with Father Bakhos Chidiac as celebrant.
Prayer services will be held Wednesday, 7:30 pm.
Interment in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

My deepest sympathy in the loss of your Father.
I had a wonderful visit with him last summer, we talked of fun times: my Mother, Aunt Dee and Uncle Eddy--years of memories. He was very proud of all of you.
I will miss Bobby as I know you will too.
