Kiger, Sarah Ida Sonda, 94, of Massillon, OH., formerly of West Liberty,
WV, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 in Laurels of Massillon, Massisillon, OH.

She was born April 2, 1917 in Ohio County, WV, the daughter of the late
Charles and Anna Bowman Sonda.

Mrs. Kiger was a retired U.S. Postmaster for the West Liberty Post Office
and a former Assistant Business Manager for West Liberty State College, West Liberty,
WV, and she was a member of the West Liberty Federated Methodist Church.
She was a member of West Liberty Order of the Eastern Star (Past Worthy
Matron); a past president of the former West Liberty Federated Women's Club,
and a past 4-H leader.

Mrs. Kiger was a member of N.A.P.U.S.  "Retired Postmaster of the
Year" in 2000 in WV, and she was past Treasurer of the Former State Line
Saddle Club for over 35 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Cephus Kiger in 1984;
two sisters, Laura Lister and Betty Manning.

Surviving are a daughter, Rosalie Ann Dolan and her husband, Alan of
Masillon, OH and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 29,
2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311)
where services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 1 p.m. with
the Reverend Bonnie Gilbert officiating. Interment in Mt. View Cemetery,
Dallas, WV.

Just now found out about Sarah's death and want to send our sympathy to the family. We spent many happy times with Sarah at NAPUS functions and considered her a dear friend. We will always remember her wonderful sense of humor, everyone loved her.
