He was born September 17, 1930 in Wheeling, WV., the son of the late Claude L. and Marie Anderson Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was a retired Lithographer with Observer reporter in Washington, PA, he was a Methodist by faith and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW and was an avid golfer and artist.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff Stephens.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years Patricia Ann Miller Stephens; a daughter, Terri Morgan of Wheeling, WV, a son, Ron Stephens and his wife, Anne of Wheeling, WV; a stepson, Don Bowman of Wheeling; a stepdaughter, Darlene "Dee" Breiding and her husband, Ted of Parkersburg, WV; a sister, Barb Winters and her husband, Ron of Wheeling, WV; five grandchildren, Cami and Chad Morgan, Alex, Chris and Catherine Stephens; three step-grandchildren, Kimberly, Joey, Scott; a great grandchild, Calli; a sister-in-law, Caroline Stephens of Atlanta, GA; several nieces and nephews and his toy poodles, Cricket and Angel.
Friends will be received from 12- 3 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike Wheeling (304-232-2732) where service will be on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Timothy J. Allen officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling at the convenience of the family.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Although I did not know him, I can only imagine what a wonderful man he must have been to raise such a loving daughter and nurture such wonderful grandchildren. My heart is with you during this difficult time.
