Tysk Annette Marie (Malandrakis), 58, of Wheeling passed peacefully on Friday February 17, 2012 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She used her master's degree to teach special education in the Ohio County School system for 30 years and her legacy will live eternally in the lives of those she touched.

Her knowledge, devotion and unconditional love for her co-workers and students was unparalleled. As a lifelong member of the Saint John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, her faith and belief in the power of prayer uplifted her spirt.

As much as she enjoyed singing weekly in the church choir it was a greater pleasure to hear such a powerful beautiful voice. Her positive outlook on life made her a magnetic energy for all who encountered her.

As a deeply caring, selfless individual her friendship was invaluable. To her family she was a soul that we feel blessed to have called our own. To us children she was our inspiration, a best friend and our Mom. We were her world and she was ours.

Annette is preceded and now reunited with her parents Louis and Rose Malandrakis; and daughter, Jaclyn Tysk.

She is survived by her daughter, Stacy and her son, Joey; a sister, Dell Tsoras (John); brothers, William Malandrakis (Katherine) and Michael Malandrakis (Helen); aunts, Sophia Panas Watkins, Stella Angelos (Ernest) and Anne Dragas (Mark); many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9 p.m., with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home 2101 Warwood Ave, Wheeling, WV 304-277-2722.

Funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church 2215 Chapline Street, Wheeling, WV 26003 with Father Eugen V. Rosa will be officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church, Easter Seals of Wheeling in memory of Jaclyn Tysk, 1305 National Road, Wheeling, WV 304-242-1390, or Liza's Place Care Center South, 308 Mt. St. Joseph Road, Wheeling, WV 740-859-5650.

Please know that our immense gratitude for all who have supported our Mom and us throughout the last few years cannot be penned onto paper, because it is so imbedded within our hearts.

Deepest sympathy to Annette's entire family. I had the pleasure of caring for Jaclyn as an infant and Annette became the person who made a difference in my life as a young nurse. She touched so many lives in many ways. How lucky I was to cross paths with her so long ago. She will never be forgotten.

I want to offer my prayers to Annette's family. I remember Annette from high school; she was one of the nicest, sweetest girls you would ever want to know. She'll always remain in everyone's thoughts and prayers. With Deepest Sympathy.
