He was born August 27, 1926 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Charles and Winifred Minkemeyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater with the Seventh Army in the 754th tank battalion. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church. He previously was a coach and treasurer for the South Wheeling Indians Baseball Organization. He was also a Little League umpire. He was retired from the United States Postal Service.
He is survived by his wife Luella Chalk Minkemeyer; a daughter Linda Foose (Richard); a son, Charles "Butch" Minkemeyer; four grandchildren, Richard Foose, Michael Foose, Amanda Finley and Vivian Minkemeyer; and five great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Foose, RJ Foose, Jayden Foose, Emelyn Foose and Derek Finley.
There will be no visitation. Burial at the convenience of the family.
