She was born on December 19, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pa, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Hearne Blockinger.
She graduated from St. Justin's High School in 1946 and obtained a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Mount Mercy (Carlow College) in 1950. She was employed by Liberty Mutual as an actuarian. In 1958 she began teaching in West Deer Township, and retired from the Deer Lakes School District in 1990. She was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church and the Volunteer Reading Tutorial Program of Ohio County Schools.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Molnar, in 2009, and a brother Charles.
Mary is survived by a son, David Paul Molnar (Eleanor) of Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania, a daughter, Susan E. Hvizdos (Thomas) of Wheeling, a sister, Jane Rodwick (Thomas) of Palm Coast, Florida, two grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Hvizdos of Champaign, Illinois, and Michael A. Boreland of Sharpsburg, Pennsylvania. Nieces and nephews, Paul Rodwick (Tamatha) of California, Dan Rodwick (Patty) of Illinois, Kathy Bucholtz (Greg) of Wisconsin and Amy Cronin (Jim) of Indiana.
Friends will be received from 2-4, 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Kepner Funeral Home, National Road at Bethany Pike, Wheeling, WV, (304.232.2732) where services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney officiating.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at the National Cemetery of Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
