Mazelon Walter, Jr., 85, of Benwood, WV., died Monday, February 1,3 2012 in Liza's Place, Wheeling.

He was born January 10, 1927 in Benwood, WV., the son of the late Walter and Mary Pollack Mazelon, Sr.

Mr. Mazelon was a retired steel worker for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, a U. S. Army Veteran and a Catholic by faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Mazelon and two sisters, Helen and Veronica.

Surviving are two brothers, John E. Mazelon and his wife, Christina of Wheeling and Paul Mazelon and his wife, Vivian of Bridgeport; a sister, Rose Matesic of Benwood and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dennis R. Schuelkens, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

I want you to know it was such a pleasure having the opportunity to care for Walter. I truly looked forward to each visit with him. Walter was such a gentleman, he will be missed. Your family is in my prayers.

We just received the word about Walts passing,so sad. We had a great relationship as a neighbor and friend.We could not have found a nicer neighbor.He will be sadly missed.Our prayers are with Mrs Matesic and family.
